Leicester boss Nigel Pearson insists Jeffrey Schlupp situation is 'resolved'

Leicester City chief Nigel Pearson insists the Ghana Football Association have not complained to him over Jeff Schlupp's injury situation.

And he is expecting no contact from them on the matter either.

Ghana boss Avram Grant was understood to be far from happy that Schlupp featured for Leicester against Stoke last Saturday.

This came just two days before Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations opener with Senegal after the winger failed to make the squad.

Schlupp was omitted from Grant's squad after picking up a knee knock at Liverpool on New Year's Day but recovered to return for club duty.

Pearson said: “There isn’t a situation with Ghana. It is resolved.

“The rules are there. We acted well within the rules.

“I made it perfectly clear he would be out for ten days to 14 days, which has been the case.

“He had an assessment and a scan, by us and then went to London to have an independent one, arranged by them.

“That concurred with our findings. The medical people from the independent assessment and ours said the same, don’t fly.

“Then they made their decision based on that because they had to the next day. I fail to see how anyone can have any problem with that.”
