Leeds United in talks with Sevilla over Iheanacho move

Published on: 01 February 2025

Leeds United have opened discussions with Sevilla over a potential transfer for Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, with less than 48 hours remaining in the winter transfer window, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Yorkshire club are yet to make any signings this winter, but are working to make changes to their squad before the deadline.

Iheanacho, 28, has emerged as a target for Leeds in the final days of the transfer market, after struggling to establish himself at Sevilla since joining on a free transfer last summer.

The Nigerian forward has made just five starts and four substitute appearances in La Liga, and Sevilla are willing to facilitate his departure on either a permanent or loan basis.

The move now hinges on Iheanacho's decision, as Leeds look to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
