Leeds Defender Charlie Taylor Linked With Stoke and Liverpool

"?Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor is reported to be wanted by Premier League clubs Stoke and Liverpool.

According to "?TEAMtalk, the 22-year-old has held talks with representatives of both clubs as he looks to begin the next stage of his promising career.

He was named the Leeds' Fans Player of the Year, marking an impressive season for the left-back. However, he has just one year remaining on his contract, and has rejected attempts by the club to extend it thus far.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has earmarked left-back as a priority position for this transfer window - a need that would have been magnified in the Europa League final against Sevilla, with Alberto Moreno having a poor game and the club losing 3-1.

Stoke are also in the market for young talent with vast potential - a policy that has seem them sign Xherdan Shaqiri and Jack Butland in recent years.

They are also believed to see the Englishman as cover for defender Eric Pieters and the left-midfield position - in which Taylor has also operated for Leeds.

A fee of £5m is reportedly the amount that will allow Taylor to make the step up to the Premier League.

If that move does not materialize, then Klopp is also believed to be interested in signing German international Jonas Hector, from FC Koln.

The 26-year-old has impressed in recent seasons, and was named in Germany's Euro 2016 squad for the tournament in France.

He would offer a more experienced alternative to Taylor, having played more regularly at a higher level.
