Paul Le Guen will set out on the task of ensuring Nigeria picks one of five tickets available to Africa at the 2018 FIFA World Cup according to NFF Technical Committee member, Mutiu Adepoju.
Le Guen, 52, emerged as the Committee’s pick for the Super Eagles job though his recommendation designates him as the Technical Adviser.
Speaking with footballlive.ng on the appointment, Adepoju defended the choice of Le Guen as meeting the prerequisites set by the Technical Committee on what qualities the next gaffer must possess.
He therefore stressed that the prime concern for the FA was getting Nigeria back on the world stage, a responsibility which he believes has been bequeathed to the best man.
