Josip Ilicic's adventure with the Atalanta shirt seems to have reached the end credits. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Slovenian is no longer considered indispensable by Gasperini. Considering also the age, the sale appears to be the most obvious move. In recent months, Milan had taken an interest in the Slovenian, but after the first contacts the track cooled down a bit.

Milan would not want to put money on the plate for the card, while Atalanta hopes to repeat an operation similar to that of Gomez-Sevilla (€7.5m), therefore with compensation for the sale, without making any discount. Lazio is moving in the background and would like to add a piece of quality to its attacking pool. The Biancoceleste club, however, will hardly go beyond €2.5m per year in its offer to the player. In the squad, only Immobile and Milinkovic exceed the salary ceiling and Claudio Lotito will hardly allow himself a third exception for Ilicic.
