Lamine Yamal ignores Morocco taunt during Barcelona win over Getafe

Lamine Yamal kept his composure after Getafe defender Abdul Abqar tried to provoke him by referring to the Barcelona forward’s Moroccan heritage during their La Liga meeting.

Barcelona won the match 3-0, but an exchange between Yamal and Abqar before a free-kick initially went unnoticed. As Yamal prepared to take the set-piece, the Madrid defender approached him and said: “You want to play for Morocco, Lamine. You want to play for Morocco.”

The comment appeared to reference the Moroccan roots of Yamal’s father and was intended to unsettle the Spain international.

Yamal, however, showed no reaction and did not allow the remark to affect his concentration.
