Two years after its establishment, Ikorodu City has gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League and it has been jubilation galore in the Lagos football community.
In a response to the feat of the Oga Boys, the Lagos State Football Association, has released a congratulatory message as made available to Nigeriasoccernet.com.
In the message, the LSFA led by its ever- resourceful and hardworking Chairman, Hajji Gafar Liameed, noted that the historic promotion of Ikorodu City, is a good development for the game in the state.
The message further commended the relentless efforts of the players and management of the team, which it described as a display of unflinching commitment and determination to compete at the elite level of club football in Nigeria.
LSFA also praised the players and management of Inter Lagos FC, for taking the battle for the coveted NPFL spot to the wire. It stated that Inter Lagos' qualification for the NNL Super 8 was no small feat, even as it remarked that it was commendable.
In the same vein, the board equally praised the management of Madiba FC, for putting up impressive performances during the regular season and the playoffs. It also lauded the club president, Alhaja Basirat Adeyemi, for her uncommon passion and commitment to the growth of the game.
LSFA went ahead to promise Ikorodu City, Madiba FC, Inter Lagos and indeed, all the State's representatives at various national championships, as well as all male and female non-league teams of its continued technical supports and encouragements at all times, towards the continual growth of the beautiful game in Lagos State.
