Nyantakyi tells critics to stop 'insults and lies' and challenge him in Ghana FA elections
Kwesi Nyantakyi

By Patrick Akoto

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has thrown a challenge to some people seeking his position to stop sponsoring journalists to publish 'lies and insults' about him and challenge him at the elections later this year.

Nyantakyi has always been criticized for the manner he pilots the affairs of Ghana football, with allegations of corruption constantly hovering over the association.

Yet no one has been able to provide an iota of evidence to back up their claims and has even taken two journalists and a radio station to court of such claims.

The astute lawyer will stand for the third time and hugely tipped by football watchers to win a landslide victory as no credible opponent has emerged.

The Wa All Stars owner has chalked some successes during his ten-year period with the Black Stars hat-trick qualification to the World featuring prominently at the height of his achievements.

But he has been accused of doing little to enhance the domestic game which has seen multi-sponsorship during his tenure.

He says those who feel that he is not the right person should just ‘take the risk’ and run again him at this year’s elections.

“A lot of things have been said about me. I have ignored most of them because I know and good thinking people know that they are untrue” he said.

“I believe I’m the right man to lead Ghana football. It’s like being an MP (Member of Parliament). If you do well your constituents will repose confidence in you and vote for you.

“If you don’t they will kick you out. It’s as simple as that. Anybody is welcomed to challenge for the seat. It’s a healthy competition.

“You can come and contest and then at the end of the day the people will decide the personality they want him to lead them at the moment.

“It doesn’t amount to insults and name-calling, just pick a form when nominations are opened and lets all contest. After all we all want the good for Ghana football.”

The widely respected Ghanaian football leader came under massive attack following the country’ wrecked World Cup campaign but the Black Stars impressive showing at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations has endeared him to many local fans.

Ex-King Faisal president Vincent Sowah-Odotei and Ofeibea Ramatu are the only two personalities who have publicly declared their intention to contest the incumbent Ghana FA boss but there is another suspected candidate on the Executive Committee of the GFA  who is refusing to make public his intention while privately discussing with others.

The fact that you will win does not make you good but that fools will vote for you. Bad people vote for the bad, simple period

What does this idiot thinks he is? Very arrogant and disrespectful. This is not how an educated person behaves. GFA does not belongs to you Nyantakyi but all Ghanaians. Anyone can decide to run for that office. Ghanaians have a bad habit of taking things personally. Just looking at his idiotic face and his stupid disposition makes me wanna puke. When did the laws of Ghana stated that you Nyantakyi has to be the GFA Boss for life. What saddles me is Ghanaians sitting and doing nothing about this. Someone has to be brave and take him on. I am sick AND TIRED OF COWARDS allowing themselves to be scared by this minnow. Ghanaians are so stupid that he is stealing the GFA money and no one dare to expose him. Thant country will burn to the ground.

The playing field is not always level for others to contest against you else you would have been defeated long ago. The GFA constitution is also one fraudulent document which always favours the incumbent. You cannot compare MP election to that of the GFA president because the electoral college for the MP is broader than that of the GFA. You Nyantakyi has succeeded in disqualifying whoever wanted to contest the seat with you so those who can do the job better are either afraid of contesting or just want to keep their integrity in tact. You once said that nobody could compete against you, why are you now saying that your opponents could fill forms and compete? Are you ready to level the playing field this time? The success of the Black Stars at AFCON 2015 was largely due to the overwhelming desire of the boys to redeem themselves and win back the hearts of Ghanaians and not anything out of your leadership. The post-Brazil revelations confirm that you are corrupt, no amount of Black Stars' success will wipe away that. If you genuinely want competition for the GFA seat, then amend the constitution to limit the term of office of the president and see whether you will not be kicked out. There should be a trickle down effect from the FIFA monies, benefits from international friendly matches and other monies received by the GFA to the premier league clubs to beef up their financial base, then they will be able to pay the players well for them to stay in the country longer and mature enough before moving out to Europe and other foreign leagues. Enough is enough, you are not the only person to lead Ghana soccer. Do you want to emulate your corrupt boss,Issa hayatou?

Is because of this stupid man that's why many Ghanaians are not supporting the blackstars the moment he leaves most people will support the team.
