President and Chief Executive Officer of Kun Khalifat FC, Michael Chukwudi Amaefule, has affirmed the club’s readiness to compete in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Making their first appearance in the top flight, the Pride of Imo State are set to begin their campaign with an away fixture against Rangers International on August 22, 2025.
"We are optimistic about this new season, our maiden one, as we take on Enugu Rangers in our first game,” Amaefule told the club’s media after the fixtures unveiling.
Having earned promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL), the team is preparing to make an impact in their debut season. Amaefule praised the team’s focus and determination during the buildup to the league opener.
"The technical crew and players are working hard, and we believe we can build on the momentum from last season in the NNL to achieve even greater success in the NPFL. The club's mentality is centred around achieving dreams with hunger, clarity of purpose, and fearless ambition that will set us apart from our opponents,” he further stated.

He also extended appreciation to the club’s growing fanbase and called for continued support as they begin their new journey in Nigerian football’s top tier.
"We are well prepared for this historic milestone, and we charge our teeming fans across the globe to give us even stronger support as we thank them for their outpouring of love and solidarity," he concluded.
