Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong is on cloud nine after helping his side post an impressive 2-1 victory over Hearts of Oak in Ghana’s Super clash on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors are finishing the season on the high after putting up another solid display to beat their sworn rivals at their own back yard.
A brace from striker Dauda Mohammed propelled the champions to the vital win in the capital.
Hearts had spurned a big opportunity to go ahead after skipper Robin Gnagne missed a spot kick for the Rainbow club.
Midfielder Inusah Musah brought the Phobians back into the game against the run of play with a wonderful header.
But Dauda Mohammed took advantage of a mix up in the Phobian defense to steal all three points for the Porcupine warriors.
Amos Frimpong says the delight of the victory is compounded if he inculcate the difficult season they have had.
“It was a great game and we did everything good to ensure that we won the game,” Frimpong said
“We have had a difficult season but everything seems to coming around at the right time which is very good for the side.
“I am really happy not for myself but for the entire team and the supporters who have remained faithful to us.”
The win takes Kotoko to 8th on the league table while Hearts are submerged to 15th on the league table.
