Asante Kotoko's Western Regional Circles Deputy PRO Stephen Marfo has descended heavily on the Operations Manager George Kennedy of the club accusing him of using the club for his personal gains after their FA Cup final loss to last Sunday.
According to, Marfo the Operations Manager contracted his relatives to prepare the foods and buy other consumables for the team during the team's stay in the Sekondi ahead of playing Medeama at the Sekondi
In an interview Marfo disclosed that the regional executives of the club in each of the regions are tasked to perform all those functions anytime the team travels to that particular region and it was their responsibility to handle those tasks only to realise that the Operations Manager of the club has asked a relative to perfom those tasks at the expense of the club.
"Whenever the team is coming to the Western Region, it is our duty to look for hotels and get all things set for their arrival. The food for the players is the responsibility of Circles 7 and 14. This has been the normal practice," Marfo said.
"We make sure we provide them with enough but if they will tell you the truth, the boys were not even properly fed. George Kennedy is doing business with the team and that cost us a lot.
"He contracted his relative to cook the foods for the team as well as finding a hotel for them. In the end the food was not enough for the players and we have paid dearly for it."
Asante Kotoko are currently battling it out with the Disciplinary Committee of the FA after a protest filed by rival Hearts of Oak which has seen six points deducted from the accumulated points of the team.
