Asante Kotoko are not surprised by Mamelodi Sundowns’ decision to recall their loaned defender Rashid Sumaila.
As per the regulations of his loan move, Kotoko where obliged to release him as and when his parent club needed him.
“We paid nothing to Sundowns when taking Sumaila and they made it known to us that whenever they needed their player they would have,” Opoku Nti told GHANASoccernet.com
”He is a player we wished we could have had worked with more but that wasn’t to be.
“But he certainly leaves with the blessing of Kotoko.”
Sumaila spent the last three month of the season back home with Kotoko after failing to secure a move to Europe.
But the 23-year-old was not used in a competitive match because of a court which delayed the start of the Ghana Premier League.
