Kieron Dyer: Rafa Benitez Will Take Newcastle Straight Back to the Top Flight

"?Former Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer has declared that the Magpies are headed right back to the Premier League with Rafa Benitez at the helm, via "?Chronicle Live.

Benitez was appointed as manager back in March, while the club was struggling to get out of the relegation zone. Despite his valiant efforts, the Spaniard was unable to save Newcastle from the drop.

Fortunately, he has pledged to remain at St. James' Park, and signed a revised three-year deal, which gives him full control of football-related affairs.

"Forget Benitez's CV, I think the best thing about him is his stature in the game," said Dyer, who was speaking at The Three Lions pub as part of Carlsberg's "?Pubstitutions' campaign.

"The club have had Alan Pardew, they've had Steve McClaren - they've had all these managers and yet the chairman has still been in full control of running the football club.

"I think one of the reasons I believe Benitez has stayed, or at least the gist of it that I get, is that Benitez has taken over because he will run the club from top to bottom, he's in charge of transfers, and the players that the club are bringing in are now the manager's own players."?

The former midfielder does not expect Newcastle to remain in the Championship for more than one season, backing them to bounce back into the top flight at the soonest.

"It's all doom and gloom that Newcastle have gone down, but Newcastle are going to come straight back up," he added.

"I am sure about that."?
