Kevin-Prince Boateng returned from injury to play in Schalke’s 2-2 stalemate against Al-Merrikh in an exhibition game on Thursday.
The two sides sold out entertaining game in Doha during as the Royal Blues ended their training camp.
Boateng was thrown into the hat after recovering from a knee injury which has kept him out of action for more than two weeks.
The Ghanaian international however could not finish the game after picking up a knock to the foot.
Merrekih paraded several of their top stars including Ghanaian new recruit Augustine Okrah, who played full throttle for the Sudanese side.
The Sudanese side took the lead in the 57th minute through Kortikaila Balla Gabir’s penalty. Schalke equalised just two minutes through Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, after great work from Tranquillo Barnetta.
The Dutch striker was presented with a simple opportunity and made no mistake. The team from Gelsenkirchen turned the game around with 18 minutes left on the clock through Sane, but with two minutes left to play Mohamed equalised.
Schalke will return to Germany on Friday ahead of the resumption of the Bundesliga later this month.
