Kelyann Bezahaf made the most of his first start of the season for Olympique de Marseille, producing an encouraging display in Sunday’s 2-0 victory away to Troyes.
The 20-year-old Algerian right-back was handed his opportunity after a number of absences affected the Marseille squad before the match. Coach Bruno Genesio opted to put his faith in youth, and Bezahaf responded with a performance that showed he could contribute to the team.
Deployed at right-back, Bezahaf played the full match and took advantage of his chance to impress the coaching staff. His display also offered him an opportunity to demonstrate his qualities in a setting where he was able to express his talent.
The sports results website Flashscore awarded him a rating of 7.8/10.
Marseille secured the three points with a 2-0 win over Troyes, but Bezahaf’s performance provided an additional positive from the away fixture. The young defender will now hope his showing leads to more playing time in Olympique de Marseille colours.
