Former Arsenal forward Kanu Nwankwo met with Arsenal teen forward Chuba Akpom whose senior international future is still been contested by Nigeria and England. Although details of Kanu’s meeting with the 20 year old was not made public but it is a known fact that Nigeria have been targeting the forward in a view to get him play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Akpom asked for more time when he was contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) about switching allegiance to Nigeria after representing England at youth level even though his childhood friend Alex Iwobi have become a regular with the senior Niigeria team.

Kanu posted pictures of himself and the teen who spent last season on loan to Championship side Hull City on his twitter handle with a write up that read thus.

“Happy to see my younger brother Akpom and talk and advice and support him in all his doings, he will be the best to watch”.

The former Arsenal forward has been doing a lot of job for upcoming Nigerian players as in the case of the transfer of Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze to Arsenal.
