Nwabali, 28, had signed a new three-year contract with Chippa United and was appointed club captain.
However, his impressive form, with four clean sheets in 11 league appearances, has reignited Kaizer Chiefs' interest.
Chippa United currently sit sixth in the league standings, while Kaizer Chiefs have struggled defensively, conceding 13 goals this term, the highest in the South African top-flight.

According to Soccerladuma, Kaizer Chiefs may revisit their interest in Nwabali during the January transfer window.
