Nwabali, who currently plies his trade with Chippa United, has been a standout performer in the Betway Premiership this season, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s top shot-stoppers.

The Chili Boys, as Chippa United is fondly known, successfully secured Nwabali's services with a three-year contract extension during the summer transfer window. Despite this, Kaizer Chiefs remain keen on the 28-year-old, having previously been linked with him before he committed to a longer stay at Chippa United.

Nwabali's performances this season have been exceptional, with the Nigerian international boasting four clean sheets in 11 appearances. His consistency has played a crucial role in Chippa United’s impressive campaign under coach Kwanele Kopo, with the team currently sitting sixth in the league standings.

According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs have been particularly impressed by Nwabali’s agility, composure, and ability to organize his defense. Chiefs’ interest in bolstering their goalkeeping department comes amidst a challenging season, where defensive frailties have been evident. The club has conceded 13 goals in the league, the highest in the South African top flight, and has yet to record a clean sheet despite experimenting with three different goalkeepers.

Kaizer Chiefs’ potential move for Nwabali highlights their determination to address defensive weaknesses and stabilize their backline. If successful, the transfer could mark a significant step in improving their competitiveness in the league.

Nwabali’s prior experience includes stints with notable Nigerian clubs like Lobi Stars and Wikki Tourists, as well as an international call-up to Nigeria's Super Eagles. His wealth of experience and consistent form have made him a sought-after figure in African football.

While Kaizer Chiefs have not officially confirmed their interest, the January window promises to be an intriguing period, with the club likely to face competition for Nwabali's signature.
