Juventus assess move for Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari

Juventus are monitoring Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari as uncertainty grows over the Sweden international’s future at the Premier League club.

According to information from Ekrem Konur, the Italian side are closely following the 23-year-old, who is also attracting interest from several leading European clubs. Ayari, who is of Tunisian descent, has emerged as a player in demand while negotiations over his Brighton contract remain unresolved.

European competition for Ayari

Juventus face strong competition for the midfielder, with Atletico de Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma and AC Milan also understood to be watching his situation.

The level of interest reflects the attention Ayari’s performances have generated among ambitious clubs across Europe. For Juventus, his age and growing reputation could make him an attractive option as they consider strengthening their midfield.

However, any move is likely to require a significant financial commitment. The Turin club must decide whether the potential benefits of signing Ayari justify entering a transfer contest involving several prominent European teams.

Ayari’s contract with Brighton is due to expire at the end of the season, a situation that has fuelled speculation about what comes next for the midfielder. Talks over a long-term extension have reportedly encountered difficulties, leaving his position at the club uncertain.

Brighton do have an option to extend the agreement by a further year. That clause could give the English club greater control over the player’s future and reduce the prospect of losing him for a relatively low fee.

Brighton value Ayari at about €50m

Despite the unresolved contract situation, Brighton are not expected to allow Ayari to leave cheaply. The club could demand about 50 million euros for the Swedish international of Tunisian descent.

That valuation may make negotiations more difficult for Juventus and the other interested clubs, particularly if more than one of them decides to make a formal approach. Juventus will therefore need to assess its available resources and transfer priorities before deciding whether to pursue the midfielder.

The combination of the contract discussions, significant European competition and Brighton’s asking price makes Ayari’s situation one to monitor closely. No transfer has been agreed, but further disagreement over a new contract could increase the likelihood of the midfielder becoming a prominent name in the next transfer window.

Brighton’s immediate focus will be their EFL Cup fourth-round fixture against Manchester City.
