Julian Alvarez is planning to appoint renowned agent Pablo Barquero, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Atletico forward previously ended his relationship with agent Fernando Hidalgo after Hidalgo was unable to arrange a move for him to Barcelona.
Alvarez is now leaning towards signing with Barquero, who represents Barcelona midfielder Rodri Hernandez. Barquero was also responsible for arranging the Spain international’s move from Manchester City last summer.
The report says Alvarez remains hopeful of joining Barcelona, with the club still his preferred option for the next stage of his career.
The 26-year-old Argentina forward has played six matches in all competitions this season but has yet to score. He has provided one assist.
