Jules Kounde marked a landmark occasion by scoring in Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Getafe and becoming the most experienced French player in the club’s history.
The France defender made his 194th appearance for Barcelona in all competitions, moving beyond the previous record held by Eric Abidal.
Abidal played 193 matches for the Catalan club, but Kounde has now surpassed that total after joining Barcelona in 2022.
The 26-year-old has faced criticism in recent weeks, but he made a positive contribution against Getafe by scoring one of Barcelona’s three unanswered goals.
His latest appearance means Kounde now holds the club record for the most matches made by a French player.
