"?Journalist Jim White has made an astonishing claim that an England international begged his agent to get him out of the Three Lions camp during the country's embarrassing Euro 2016 campaign.
England suffered one of their most painful and woeful defeats in their international tournament history after losing out to underdogs Iceland 2-1 in the last 16 knock out stage of the Euros, capping off what had been a dismal performance throughout the entire competition, and ultimately cost then manager Roy Hodgson his job.
And to make matters worse, White has come out and suggested that sources have informed him that the mood and spirit in the camp during the summer tournament in France were sufficient that one player actually begged his agent to help him leave.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, via "?The Sun, ahead of England's World Cup qualifier with Scotland at Wembley Stadium on Friday evening, White was asked whether the current crop of players have the desire to play for their country.
In response, White said: "There was a player at the Euros this year, who when England arrived in France rang his agent and said "?Can you get me out of this?
"He phoned his agent to try and get out of it"

"And that to me is extraordinary."?
White refused to name the player involved, however, former Everton and Scotland international John Collins has dismissed this supposed story, claiming the revelation is extremely hard to believe.
"I find that hard to believe," said Collins.
"A player picked to represent their country "? surely they have to cherish it and love that."?
