Jordan Ayew: Ghana attacker scores 12th league goal of the season in Lorient big win at Metz

Ghana attacker Jordan Ayew scored his 12th goal of the season after netting in Lorient's 4-0 triumph over Metz in the Ligue 1 on Saturday night.

The Black Stars attacker wrapped up the victory for Lorient with an 83rd minute strike as they handed down a heavy defeat to the struggling side.

Metz - sitting in the top half of the table until November - then had their fate put beyond any doubt late on when Ayew added his name to the scoreline, converting a pass from Yann Jouffre (84') as it ended 4-0. Metz return to Ligue 2, while Lorient could yet join them, though they now have a five-point cushion with two games left.

Jordan has been in good scoring form since returning from the 2015 AFCON, scoring three goals in his last three games.

Saturday's goal has enhanced his profile on the Top-scorers chart, moving just four goals within Paris Saint-Germain's Edson Cavani.
