Joe Ledley Reveals the Reasoning Behind Wales' Bizarre Pre-Match Photos

Published on: 13 November 2016

"?Wales' spirit and determination throughout the summer at Euro 2016 saw them win the hearts and minds of fans throughout the United Kingdom and further afar, with the team eventually being knocked out in the semi-final to eventual winners Portugal.

And although the tournament will go down as a memorable competition in Wales' footballing history, it seems to have bred a strange superstition among the squad, posing in an oddly asymmetrical shape for their pre-match photos.

The Dragons were at it again before their 1-1 draw with Serbia on Saturday, and speaking to "?Dream Team, Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley revealed the reasoning behind the squad's strange pre-match habits.

"We just talk within the group and we decide what we're going to do.

"We will probably continue it "? it's been lucky for us, so I don't think we will have a proper photo."?

Whether Wales' performances during the summer were down to the exceptional performances of their players in matches against the likes of Belgium and Slovakia rather than the assembly of a squad photo remains to be seen.

If the superstition is valid, here's to hoping it brings Wales more luck over the next few years as they compete to reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
