"?QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be given the resources to sign new players in the summer, but must make a big decision before he begins scouring the market for fresh blood to add to his squad.
Rangers chief executive Lee Hoos insists that there is a limited budget, leaving the manager to ponder whether to spend big on proven stars and have a thin squad on the ground, or bring in masses of cheaper players to bulk out the side.
Hoos himself arrived from Burnley where this thin squad theory was utilised to great success, but "?speaking to Get West London, the chief executive was keen to stress that this process is far from a source of guaranteed promotion.
"(Boss) Jimmy (Floyd Hasselbaink) can go with a squad that's smaller but pay them more - that's his call.
"It was a bit like that at Burnley.
"But there were two things at Burnley: a great reliance on sport science and the medical department to keep the players up and running and in good condition, and two: we didn't get a lot on non preventable injuries: it was a combination of skill and luck."?
Rangers are currently in negotiations with Junior Hoilett and Karl Henry, with the duo likely to have to accept a pay cut if they wish to remain at the club.
Several players have already been shown the door this summer, including popular figures Clint Hill and Alejandro Faurlin. Rangers finished in 12th place in the Championship in 2015/16 and will be keen to improve upon that in 2016/17.
