Bendel Insurance interim coach Greg Ikhenoba has expressed his disappointment at his side's 2-1 defeat to Nasarawa United in a midweek fixture on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Benin Arsenals suffered their latest setback at the Lafia City Stadium, a result that sees them drop to the bottom of the log with 12 points from 14 games.
Ikhenoba admitted that his team did not plan to lose the game, but acknowledged that the unpredictability of football can sometimes lead to unexpected results.
"It's disappointing to lose this game because we didn't plan to lose here, looking at our situation, but that's football," Ikhenoba said in a post-match interview.
Despite the defeat, Ikhenoba was pleased with the level of officiating in the game, praising the referees for their performance.
"Officiating was good. I was very impressed," he added.
Ikhenoba is now focusing on identifying and addressing the weaknesses that led to the defeat, with the aim of bouncing back in their next fixture.
"We will go back home and fix our gray areas and ensure we come back smiling," he said.
