Expressing his elation post-match, Leverkusen's coach Xavi Alonso didn't conceal his delight, stating, "I am happy and proud of the team. We showed a serious performance and controlled the game. We didn’t want any surprises. We can celebrate that we are heading back to Berlin after four years."
Speaking specifically about Boniface's return, Alonso emphasized, "It was special for Boniface after three months out. He worked hard to get back on the pitch. He wanted to enjoy it with the players. We needed him back."
Alonso also highlighted the significance of advancing to the Pokal final, affirming, "It’s special to go to Berlin. We know the Pokal is important and we are expecting great support from our fans. We now have other targets. The last game of the season being a Final show we have had a good season."
