International Friendly: Finidi talks tough ahead of Ghana, Mali games

Nigeria Super Eagles interim coach, George Finidi has stated his responsibility as a coach is to get victory and make Nigerians happy, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Finidi who is saddled with the responsibility of leading the men's national team in the friendly matches against Ghana and Mali spoke to the Super Eagles media about the team's preparation and the expectation for the two matches.

The Enyimba International coach stated that the intensity in training is gradually building as more players arrive the camp.

Finidi stated he is satisfied what he has seen so far since the camp opened for the friendly matches.

"It's been good. We are still waiting for some players, but the players that are here now have done a good job, good training. It is not that intense because some of them are just getting back, but it's been a good feeling, the team spirit is good so I'm happy about that."

The former international also spoke on how it feels to be saddled with the responsibility of handling the team right for these two crucial games.

"Definitely as a coach there is responsibility, but it is what we do. You've to be calm and do your job, make sure you do it properly. A lot of Nigerians are watching so we want to make them proud. AFCON is gone so these are two games that are very crucial to Nigerians. So, we will take them seriously and make sure we get the best out of these games."

Nigeria play rivals, Ghana on Friday 22nd March with kickoff at 2PM while they play Mali at the same Grand Stade de Marrakech on Tuesday, 26th March.
