Contract talks between Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Napoli have stalled, with the Cameroon international’s wage demands preventing an agreement over a new deal.
The 30-year-old midfielder is currently paid 3.6m euros net per season and is seeking a salary close to 6m euros a year. The 2.4m-euro gap has brought negotiations with Napoli’s hierarchy to a standstill.
Anguissa’s contract is due to expire next summer, leaving Napoli at risk of losing him without a transfer fee. His value is estimated at 15m euros.
Inter interest dates back to Marseille spell
Inter Milan are monitoring the situation closely and could move for Anguissa if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season, according to Tuttosport.
The Nerazzurri have followed the midfielder since his time in the French league with Olympique de Marseille. Inter previously showed concrete interest in 2025, when Anguissa’s contract was also approaching its expiry.
The current impasse gives the Italian club another opportunity to pursue a player it has tracked for several years. A free transfer in the summer of 2027 would represent the culmination of that long-term interest.
Anguissa is reported to earn an annual salary of 3,460,000 euros, equivalent to 2,249,000,000 FCFA, in Italy.
