Romelu Lukaku has scored 12 league goals before Christmas - as many as he managed in his entire final Premier League season with Manchester United
Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Inter Milan beat Genoa to finish 2019 top of Serie A.
The former Manchester United striker put Antonio Conte's side in the lead with a header and Roberto Gagliardini made it 2-0 moments later.
Lukaku then let Sebastiano Esposito take a penalty, which the 17-year-old scored to put Inter 3-0 up.
And Belgian Lukaku blasted his second into the top corner to put the game beyond doubt, his 14th goal for Inter.
Inter are above Juventus - who have won the past eight Italian league titles - on goal difference.
The Nerazzurri, who appointed Conte in the summer, have not won a trophy since the 2011 Coppa Italia.
The last time Inter topped the table at Christmas was 2015, but they only won nine of their next 21 games to finish fourth, 24 points behind Juve.
Champions Juventus face Lazio in the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia on Sunday (16:45 GMT with live text commentary on BBC Sport website and app).
