Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze is likely to miss Super Eagles World Cup qualifying games coming up next month after picking up a knock during AC Milan's 5-1 win against Cagliari on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Chukwueze who started the game was forced off in the second half after picking an unspecified muscle problem in his left thigh, with Rafa Leao coming in as his replacement.
Chukwueze's injury is the thirty-first muscle injury of the season, out of forty in total , suffered by a Milan player and he may now sit out of Super Eagles two World Cup qualifying games coming up in June, having previously missed Nigeria’s friendlies against Ghana and Mali in March.
He is expected to undergo tests today to determine the extent of the injury he picked up while on duty for Milan against Cagliari over the weekend.
The Super Eagles will face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on the 3rd of June in Uyo before traveling to Cotonou for the game against Benin Republic 7 days later.
