Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has described Lamine Yamal’s achievements at the age of 19 as “not normal”.
The Barcelona winger has already won three Spanish league titles, the European Championship and the World Cup. He has also lifted the Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
Iniesta believes Yamal’s success at such a young age will not become a problem for him, because playing for Barcelona brings constant demands and new challenges.
“At Barcelona, it does not matter what you have won before – what matters is what you still have to win,” said the former Catalan club player.
Yamal, who plays on the wing for Barcelona, has continued to collect major honours despite his age. According to Iniesta, the club’s expectation of competing for further trophies means previous achievements cannot reduce the pressure on its players.
