Matt Donohue and his assistant Blake Antrobus will not be appointed for the next round of Premier League fixtures after the officials awarded Erling Haaland’s winning goal in the Manchester derby.
Manchester United were beaten 1-0 at home by Manchester City in the fourth round of the English Premier League, with Haaland scoring the only goal of the match.
According to The Touchline account, the VAR officials have been punished following the derby. Donohue and Antrobus allowed Manchester City’s goal to stand, despite an offside infringement involving Enzo Fernandez.
The result lifted Manchester City to 12 points and moved them into second place in the Premier League table. Manchester United, known as the Red Devils, have four points and sit 13th.
