Trabzonspor Coach Provides Positive Update on Paul Onuachu Injury

Trabzonspor interim coach Huseyin Cimsir has moved to ease concerns over Paul Onuachu’s fitness after the Nigerian striker was forced off during the club’s 5-0 victory over Genclerbirligi, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Onuachu enjoyed an impressive outing before his early departure, scoring twice to put Trabzonspor firmly in control of the Turkish Süper Lig clash. However, the forward was substituted in the 44th minute after picking up an injury, with new signing Franculino Dju taking his place.

The Nigeria international opened the scoring just five minutes into the encounter before adding his second goal in the 22nd minute to give the Black Sea Storm a commanding advantage.

Despite the injury setback, Çim?ir played down fears of a lengthy absence and expressed confidence that the striker would recover in time for the team’s next fixture.

“I don’t think it’s anything serious. There’s no problem,” Çim?ir was quoted as saying by NTV Spor.

Onuachu has now scored twice in four league appearances for Trabzonspor this season.

The Black Sea Storm will return to Süper Lig action away against Konyaspor in their next league fixture.
