Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has spoken about the unsuccessful transfer that would have brought Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong to the club.
De Jong currently plays for Barcelona, having established himself as one of the Catalan club’s leading midfielders.
Ten Hag was Manchester United’s head coach from 2022 to 2024, during which time he attempted to arrange the midfielder’s move to the Old Trafford side. The transfer ultimately did not go through.
