Tanguy Nianzou extends Lille contract through to 2029

Lille defender Tanguy Nianzou has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until June 2029.

The 24-year-old Franco-Ivorian joined Lille from Sevilla last summer, returning to France after previous spells with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

Nianzou has made five appearances this season, including four starts, and has provided one assist in Ligue 1. His progress was briefly halted by a suspension after he was sent off against Monaco.

The Paris-born centre-back is rebuilding his career with Lille after a difficult period at Sevilla, where a succession of injuries disrupted his time at the club.

His new deal was agreed shortly after Lille completed an agreement with Hamza Igamane, as the club secured the future of another member of their squad.

Lille’s next fixture is their 10th match of the French league season, against Stade Rennais.
