Stuttgart claimed their first home victory of the Bundesliga campaign with a commanding 4-1 win over Koln on Friday.

The hosts controlled the match for long periods and turned their dominance into four goals, although they had to wait until shortly before half-time to make the breakthrough. Josha Vagnoman provided the decisive pass for Bilal El Khannouss, who finished the move to put Stuttgart in front.

Stuttgart continued to press after the interval and doubled their advantage in the 60th minute. Maximilian Mittelstadt supplied the assist, with Grischa Promel converting to give the home side a two-goal cushion.

Koln were unable to contain Stuttgart’s attacking momentum. Ermedin Demirovic added a third goal soon afterwards, leaving the visitors with a substantial deficit to overcome.

Marius Bulter pulled one back for Koln in the 81st minute with a well-directed strike, offering the visitors a brief prospect of a late comeback. Stuttgart, however, restored their three-goal advantage before the final whistle.

Vagnoman completed the scoring in the 90th minute, putting the finishing touch to a convincing performance from the home side.

The result leaves Stuttgart with three points after two rounds of Bundesliga fixtures. Koln have also collected three points from their opening two matches.
