Spalletti blames slow Juventus display after 3-0 defeat by Lazio

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti said his side were too slow both physically and mentally after they suffered a 3-0 defeat by Lazio in Serie A.

Spalletti made six changes to his starting line-up, but felt the players who came into the team failed to provide the required intensity.

The Juventus manager said his players were slow “with their feet and with their heads” as Lazio secured a convincing victory in the seventh round of the Italian championship.

The result leaves Juventus with 11 points from seven matches and eighth in the Serie A table.

Juventus thought they had taken the lead in the 24th minute when striker Randal Kolo Muani found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Lazio went on to claim all three points, leaving Spalletti’s team with a significant defeat as they continue their campaign.

Juventus will attempt to respond in their next league match against Lecce on 25 October.
