Akhmat manager Stanislav Cherchesov has commented on Matvey Safonov’s fourth-place finish in the ranking of the world’s best goalkeepers for 2026.
Safonov placed fourth in the voting, while Athletic goalkeeper Unai Simon topped the list.
The Krasnodar academy graduate joined the French giants in summer 2024. Last winter, he became the Paris club’s first-choice goalkeeper after displacing Lucas Chevalier.
