Rennes secured a narrow home win over Marseille in Ligue 1, with Adrien Thomasson scoring the only goal of Friday’s fourth-round match.
The first half at Rennes ended goalless, with neither side able to create a breakthrough before the interval.
The decisive moment came shortly after the restart. Moussa Al-Taamari supplied the pass for Thomasson, who took his opportunity and beat the Marseille goalkeeper.
Marseille responded by pushing forward in search of an equaliser, but Rennes defended resolutely and avoided conceding. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
The result takes Rennes to 10 points, while Marseille remain on three.
