RB Leipzig have announced the signing of Spanish forward Marc Guiu from Chelsea, with the 20-year-old committing his future to the German club until 2031.
Guiu will wear the number nine shirt for RB Leipzig, who confirmed the transfer through their official media channels. The move brings an end to the striker’s time at Chelsea, where he had played since 2024.
The financial terms have not been officially disclosed in the announcement. However, reports suggest RB Leipzig paid €17m to secure the Spain international’s services.
Guiu joined Chelsea in 2024 and made 29 appearances for the London club across all competitions. During that time, he scored eight goals and provided two assists.
His switch to RB Leipzig represents the next stage in a young career that has now taken him from Chelsea to Germany on a contract running through 2031. The forward will begin his time with his new club wearing the shirt traditionally associated with the central striker’s position.
The German club’s announcement confirms both the transfer and the length of Guiu’s agreement, while the reported €17m fee remains the figure linked with the deal.
Guiu was used by Chelsea across their matches in all competitions during his spell at the club, contributing 10 goals in total through his eight strikes and two assists. RB Leipzig have now secured his services for the long term, with the striker’s new agreement extending until 2031.
The move also sees Guiu leave English football after two years with Chelsea. At 20, he arrives at RB Leipzig with experience of senior football and a record of 29 appearances for his former club.
RB Leipzig have confirmed that Guiu will be part of their squad as their number nine. His transfer was announced by the club’s press service, formally completing his move from Chelsea.
The Spanish forward will therefore continue his career in Germany, with RB Leipzig becoming the second club he has represented since leaving Spain for Chelsea in 2024. His record at Chelsea included eight goals and two assists from his 29 appearances in all competitions.
The reported €17m transfer fee makes the move one of the latest significant steps in Guiu’s career, although the club’s official announcement focused on the player’s arrival and his contract through 2031.
