PSG explore Julian Alvarez move as Kvaratskhelia faces lengthy absence

Published on: 23 October 2026

Paris Saint-Germain are considering a January move for Atletico forward Julian Alvarez after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffered a serious knee injury, according to The Touchline.

Kvaratskhelia sustained the injury this week and is expected to spend a long period recovering after undergoing surgery. His absence has prompted PSG to assess possible attacking reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window.

Alvarez’s primary position is centre-forward, but the Argentina international can also operate on either flank. That versatility has made the 26-year-old a potential option for PSG as they seek to compensate for Kvaratskhelia’s extended absence.

Alvarez wanted to join Barcelona during the summer, but Atletico chose not to allow the player to leave.

Transfermarkt currently values Alvarez at 110m euros.
