The Federation Malienne de Football (FEMAFOOT) and the Societe du Pari Mutuel Urbain du Mali, known as PMU-Mali, have signed an agreement worth 500 million CFA francs (£670,000) per year to support football development in the country.
The partnership was concluded in Bamako on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, with funding intended to cover several areas of the sport. Its support will extend to clubs, training centres, technical supervision and refereeing.
The agreement represents a formal commitment by PMU-Mali to contribute to the organisation and development of football through annual financial backing. However, the length of the partnership has not been disclosed.
FEMAFOOT president Mahazou dit Baba Cisse welcomed the deal, describing it as an investment in young people. His comments reflected the federation’s view that the agreement can help strengthen the structures supporting footballers and those working across the game.
Fassery Doumbia, the Director General of PMU-Mali, said the company’s contribution formed part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
The deal also includes specific support for women’s football and gender equality.
