Fabian Hurzeler of Brighton and Hove Albion and Andoni Iraola of Liverpool are also in contention for the prize, according to the list published on the Premier League’s official website.
Manchester City recorded a maximum nine points in the Premier League during the month under Maresca. Liverpool and Brighton, managed by Iraola and Hurzeler respectively, collected seven points each.

Brighton’s September run also included a notable result in the previous round of matches, when they beat Arsenal 3-0.
The Premier League’s manager of the month for September will be announced next week.
