Olivier Giroud has revealed that Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing him before he joined Chelsea in 2018, but the France striker said family circumstances meant he did not seriously consider the move.
Giroud was short of regular playing time at Arsenal at the time and was keen to secure his place in France’s squad for the World Cup. He ultimately left Arsenal for Chelsea.
The striker played for the London club from 2018 to 2021, making 119 appearances and recording 39 goals and 14 assists.
Giroud won the Champions League and the Europa League during his time with Chelsea.
