Katsina United scored twice in the final six minutes to recover from two goals down and draw 2-2 with Plateau United in their Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 10 fixture at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Saturday.
Plateau United took the lead in the 30th minute when Umar Rabiu turned the ball into his own net. The visitors protected their advantage through to half-time and looked set to claim an important away victory.
Their position strengthened eight minutes from time, when Jibril Ibrahim added a second goal in the 82nd minute.
Katsina United responded almost immediately. Yusha’u Armiya’u reduced the deficit in the 84th minute, giving the hosts renewed hope of salvaging a result.
Rabiu then made amends for his earlier error by scoring the equaliser deep into stoppage time. His late goal earned Katsina United a point and denied Plateau United all three points after they had appeared to be in control.
Seven more Matchday 10 fixtures are scheduled to be played at venues across the country on Sunday.
