Nnamdi Collins linked with Manchester United move from Eintracht Frankfurt

German-Nigerian defender Nnamdi Collins, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The 22-year-old centre-back is valued at €20m and is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2030. The reported interest would see Collins move from Germany’s top flight to the Premier League, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed.

Collins has made four Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt this season, starting in 38% of the club’s possible league matches. He has also played once in the DFB-Pokal, with one yellow card recorded in each competition.

He joined Frankfurt from Borussia Dortmund II on 9 August 2023 in a deal worth €1m. Collins came through Dortmund’s youth system after joining from Dusseldorf as a young player and won the German Under-19 Bundesliga title with Dortmund in the 2021-22 season.

The defender, born in Dusseldorf, has a preferred right foot and stands 1.88m tall. Frankfurt’s long-term contract places the club in a strong position should Manchester United pursue the rumoured move, while Collins’ current market valuation is significantly higher than the fee paid for him three years ago.

For now, Collins remains an Eintracht Frankfurt player with more than three years left on his contract.
