NLO Cup 2026 to Test AI-Powered ScoutLyx Platform in Abuja

Published on: 05 November 2026

The Nationwide League One (NLO) Cup 2026 will introduce an AI-powered football platform, ScoutLyx, in a pilot programme aimed at improving grassroots player development, performance analysis and talent identification in Nigeria, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The technology will be tested during the North Central Zone encounter between Paul E FC and Bussdor United at the Area 3 Pitch in Abuja.

ScoutLyx is designed to capture and present football statistics alongside individual performance insights, giving players a better understanding of their contributions on the pitch.

The platform also aims to provide scouts, coaches, clubs and other football stakeholders with data-driven tools to assess emerging players and identify promising talents.

The trial represents an effort to bring technology closer to grassroots football, where many talented players often struggle to gain visibility and attract opportunities beyond their immediate competitions.

By using a competitive NLO Cup fixture to demonstrate its capabilities, ScoutLyx seeks to show how digital tools and performance data can complement traditional scouting methods.

The initiative also highlights the NLO's interest in encouraging innovation and creating more opportunities for young footballers to showcase their abilities.
