Como came from behind to beat Genoa 4-1 in the Italian Championship 2026-27, leaving the Genoa side without a point after three matches and condemning them to a third consecutive defeat.
Genoa made the stronger start at home and took the lead after 19 minutes. Lorenzo Colombo supplied the pass for Milutin Osmajic, who finished the move to put the hosts in front.
The advantage did not last long, however. Como restored parity six minutes later when Martin Baturina found the net, setting up a decisive spell before half-time.
The visitors then took control of the match. Assane Diao completed Como’s turnaround in the 30th minute, giving his side the lead for the first time.
Nico Paz added a third goal before the break, putting Como in a commanding position and leaving Genoa facing the prospect of another defeat.
Genoa were unable to produce a response after the interval. Como continued to hold the advantage and remained the only side to score in the second half.
Diao completed his double in the 78th minute to seal a convincing win for Como. His second goal ended the scoring and confirmed the visitors’ biggest moment of the match.
The result extends Genoa’s difficult beginning to the campaign. They have now lost each of their first three matches in the 2026-27 Italian Championship and remain without a single point.
Como, by contrast, moved on to seven points from their opening fixtures. Their victory was secured by four different phases of the game: Osmajic’s early opener for Genoa, Baturina’s equaliser, Diao’s first goal and Paz’s strike before half-time, followed by Diao’s second goal late in the match.
Despite conceding first, Como recovered quickly and turned the game in their favour before the break. Genoa’s early attacking pressure produced the opening goal, but the home team could not maintain that momentum once the visitors levelled.
Baturina’s equaliser changed the direction of the contest, while Diao’s first goal gave Como the lead just five minutes later. Paz then strengthened the visitors’ position, leaving Genoa with too much ground to make up.
The final goal from Diao completed a comfortable scoreline for Como and confirmed their third victory of the campaign. For Genoa, the defeat leaves them at the bottom of their immediate run of results, still waiting to register their first point.
