Newcastle United are interested in Real Sociedad central midfielder Luka Sucic, according to Spanish newspaper Diario AS.
The Premier League club are considering triggering the €60m release clause in the Croatia international’s contract, the report says.
Newcastle’s new head coach Matthias Jaissle already knows Sucic from their time working together at Red Bull Salzburg.
Sucic joined Real Sociedad in 2024 for €10m. The 24-year-old has made six appearances in La Liga this season and scored two goals.
Sucic began his senior career at Red Bull Salzburg, where he worked under Jaissle before moving to Real Sociedad. Newcastle are now assessing whether to make a move for the midfielder at the price set out in his contract.
The potential transfer would see Sucic reunite with Jaissle in England, while Real Sociedad would stand to make a significant profit on the €10m they paid for him in 2024.
